How is the thickness of the insulation layer calculated? For a DN200 pipe, according to GB50264, approximately 40 mm should be sufficient (I haven’t calculated it before). Could anyone with experience give some guidance?
The temperature is too low; just using insulation on long pipelines isn’t sufficient to solve the problem – it’s necessary to maintain water flow

What is the pipe diameter? Is it a main pipe or a branch pipe? Is the water flow continuous or intermittent? If it’s continuous, just ensure insulation is in place
The pipe diameter is DN200; water is used intermittently, and the water tank is placed indoors to prevent it from freezing.
In the case of intermittent water use, is there a design for a drainage mechanism? For example, drains can be installed at various low points to remove water after use. If none such mechanism exists, then heat tracing measures or self-circulation systems need to be considered; otherwise, if the pipes are not properly insulated, freezing can occur easily
I consulted with insulation manufacturers, and most of them recommend burying the pipes below the frost line. In our case, it’s not possible to dig holes above ground, so we have no choice but to install the pipes above ground level. :Q
