The raw materials for biogas fermentation undergo anaerobic fermentation in biogas digesters; as a result, they contain a wide range of nutrients essential for plants, along with numerous microbial metabolites. They also include beneficial substances such as hormones and antibiotics that can inhibit the growth of pathogens and enhance a plant’s resilience, making them useful for preventing plant diseases and pests and improving plant stress resistance. The operation method is as follows: 1. Control aphids on crops. Spraying biogas slurry on wheat, beans, vegetables, cotton, fruit trees, etc., can help prevent damage caused by aphids; the application method is as follows ; (1) Use 14 kilograms of biogas slurry and 0.5 kilograms of laundry detergent solution (the solution is prepared at a ratio of 1:10 of laundry detergent to water) to create a compound insecticide based on biogas slurry, which is then applied using a sprayer. (2) Apply 35 kilograms per 667 meters of field once, and apply another application the next day. (3) The best time for spraying is on a sunny morning. Production practice has shown that biogas-rich biogas slurry, when used to control aphids and cabbage caterpillars in vegetables and fruit trees, achieves an control rate of around 70% after one application, while two applications can result in a control rate of over 96%. 2. Using biogas slurry to control corn borers. The corn borer is a major pest of spring and summer corn. The conventional method is to apply a liquid solution to the heart leaves of corn for control. Mixing pesticides with biogas slurry and applying it to the heart leaves of corn can achieve both pest control and fertilization effects. Specific method: During the peak hatching period of the stem borers, prepare a solution by using 50 kilograms of biogas slurry along with 10 milliliters of 2.5% diclofop-butyl emulsifiable concentrate. When using it, point the sprayer nozzle downward to apply the pesticide directly to the plant’s core. Observations made 6 and 11 days after application showed that the control effect was identical whether slurry containing deltamethrin was used or the pesticide solution alone, with no damage caused by corn earworm larvae. Furthermore, it was also found that corn seeds treated with biogas slurry and plants watered at the heart leaves had slightly darker leaf colors and appeared to grow upward. 3. Control red spider mites on fruit trees. During the growth period of fruit trees such as apples and citrus, spraying these trees with raw biogas slurry or a solution containing a small amount of pesticides can help control pests and diseases such as aphids, red and yellow spiders, mites, and scale insects ; Applying biogas slurry to diseased trees can prevent apple tree rot ; Root drenching with biogas slurry can prevent physiological diseases such as root rot, yellow leaf disease, and small leaf disease. When the raw biogas slurry was applied to fruit trees, it achieved a kill rate of 91.5% against adult red spider mites, 86% against their eggs, and 56.5% against yellow spider mites ; When biogas slurry is diluted with 1/3 water, the kill rate for adult red spider mites is 82%, and the kill rate for their eggs is 84%; for yellow spider mites, the kill rate is 25.3%. Therefore, the higher the concentration of the biogas slurry, the better the pest control effect. When applying biogas slurry to fruit trees, adding 1/1000 to 1/2000 of omethoate, or 1/1000 to 1/3000 of fenitrothion, yields a very significant effect in killing insects and eggs; the elimination rate of adults and eggs can reach 100%, with the pesticidal effect lasting for more than 30 days. When applying biogas slurry, it is more effective to supplement beneficial elements and nutrients depending on the size of the crown and the tree’s nutritional status. For fruit trees that produce many fruits in the morning and have weak growth, due to insufficient nutrients in the tree, 0.1% urea can be added to the peat moss solution. For the young trees and those that bear few fruits and grow weakly in the village, 0.2%–0.5% of phosphorus-based fertilizer should be added to the peat slurry to facilitate the formation of flower buds.
