The on-site magnetic flap level gauges always give inaccurate readings and are practically useless; I urgently need recommendations for high-quality on-site level gauges that are mostly used in acid tanks, alkali tanks, positive and negative water seals, and sodium hypochlorite storage tanks.
Automation and intelligence are being promoted everywhere; remote-level gauges are very convenient, not expensive, and make it easy to monitor the level.
On-site level gauges have a role that remote transmitters cannot replace, and they are used to calibrate remote level gauges
I don’t think it’s necessary; it’s not convenient for observation and operation. Remote-level gauges can be used for alarm and interlock functions, which is also beneficial from a safety perspective. We’ve had incidents in our hypochlorite tank where the liquid level was too high, almost leading to overflow. Alarm systems detected this issue in time; how could a local-level gauge have done that? Moreover, remote-level gauges don’t suffer from inaccurate readings – typically, flange-type differential pressure level gauges are used.
You don’t understand what I mean. For many container-type devices on-site, remote level gauges and on-site level gauges are usually designed and used simultaneously as a reference for each other. It’s not that on-site level gauges are absolutely necessary; many design firms these days overlook the importance of such gauges. After all, on-site level gauges are inexpensive, and many small devices may use only on-site level gauges.
Magnetic flap level gauges require maintenance; they have a simple working principle and are not expensive. Scaling (on floats, connection valves, and drain valves) needs to be cleaned every six months; this also depends on the medium used and the operating environment. If it is to be used in northern regions, heating for insulation is required.
