Pickling and passivation of nickel alloy equipment

Stainless steel equipment requires pickling and passivation; is the same requirement applicable to nickel alloy equipment? Why?
Why isn’t there anyone replying to the original poster’s post? I’m facing the same problem now.
Hastelloy is pickled; I haven’t worked with anything else.
It doesn’t seem necessary; stainless steel passivation is intended to create a passivation film, and nickel may not be sufficient for that purpose
