Take over phosphating

Do steel pipes used for connections on pressure vessels need to be phosphated? Is there a conflict between phosphating treatment and the standard requirement that the phosphorus content should be below a certain level? Could it be that since phosphating only affects the surface, it has no impact? Seeking advice. Thank you
Where did the original poster see a requirement for phosphating? Some mechanical parts may indeed require it, but phosphating doesn’t seem to increase strength or corrosion resistance
