If it’s just about controlling the resistance in Tower 1 for crude argon, then simply closing the valve at the outlet of the argon liquid pump will do. When starting the argon liquid pump, should the reflux valve be opened a little first? Thank you
Controlling resistance is not the goal; instead, the reflux of Tower 1 is controlled based on the crude argon and oxygen content in that tower, the argon fraction, and the operating conditions of the main tower. Start the argon pump; it is preferable to achieve full reflux, with the outlet slightly open or closed, in order to prevent contamination of the main cryogenic liquid oxygen. . .
