The lubricating oil required for the operation of the unit is supplied by the main oil pump ; The auxiliary oil pump is activated automatically in case of a failure in the main oil pump or an issue with the oil system, which leads to a drop in system oil pressure; it supplies an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to all the lubrication points of the unit. The flow rate of this oil pump is generally between 200 and 350 L/min, and the outlet pressure should be no less than 0.5 MPa. The lubricating oil is reduced in pressure before reaching the bearings, at a pressure of 0.08 to 0.15 MPa. III. Lubricating Oil Cooler The lubricating oil cooler is used to cool the lubricating oil after it passes through the oil pump, in order to control the temperature of the oil that enters the bearings. To maintain the oil supply temperature within the range of 35–45°C, two oil coolers are generally installed: one is in use while the other serves as a backup (in special cases, both can be used simultaneously). When the cooling performance of the cooler in use fails to meet the production requirements, it is switched to the backup cooler to maintain production, while the decommissioned cooler is taken apart for inspection; after removing the dirt, it is reassembled and put back into use. IV. Lubricating oil filter: The lubricating oil filter is installed at the outlet of the pump and is used to filter the lubricating oil that enters the compressor; it is an effective measure to ensure the quality of the lubricating oil. To ensure the safe operation of the unit, two filters are installed for each one, with one in operation and one as a backup. V. High-level oil tank: The high-level oil tank is a protective device; when the supply of lubricating oil from the main and auxiliary oil pumps is interrupted, the lubricating oil in the high-level oil tank flows to various lubrication points through the inlet pipes, driven by gravity, to meet the lubrication requirements during the idle operation of the unit. The fuel storage capacity of the high-position tank should generally be sufficient to ensure a fuel supply duration of no less than 5 minutes.
