What are the differences between the design of fully welded plate heat exchangers and that of conventional heat exchangers? I’m a beginner; I only know how to carry out my graduation project design according to the \"Plate Heat Exchanger Engineering Design Manual\". Moreover, the book lacks a clear approach to the design process. Help needed
The design of fully welded plate heat exchangers follows the same principles as those of conventional heat exchangers; it is possible to carry out the design using the guidelines provided in the \"Plate Heat Exchanger Engineering Design Manual\". However, due to the differences in plate designs among various manufacturers, the empirical formulas for heat transfer and pressure drop vary significantly. As a result, there are substantial differences between the design based on the manual and the actual performance of heat transfer and pressure drop in equipment manufactured by real companies. While this approach can be used for graduation projects, it is recommended to turn to professional manufacturers for selecting appropriate equipment in practical applications.
