The use of a water softening station is aimed primarily at enabling the recycling of softened water (with the softened water being used for cooling purposes). It also ensures that the cooling water for the cylinders is at least 6 degrees higher than the intake air temperature. The main components include a water tank along with inlet and outlet pipelines, a water pump, a water cooler, a filler water filter, temperature control valves for the water used in the cylinders, and an instrumentation monitoring system. The main and auxiliary pumps are required to start automatically when the water pressure drops.
