The permanent flame in ground torches uses natural gas (whose main component is methane), and its flame tends to go out easily; however, when a gas line from a liquefied gas tank is used, the flame burns normally without going out. What’s going on here?
The purity is not high or it contains water; the pressure is too low to maintain combustion.
I also have a ground torch here; it has been in operation for over a month without any problems. I think it’s related to the pneumatic valve used to control the perpetual flame, or perhaps the amount of exhaust gas increasing suddenly, which causes the flame to go out. And then there’s what was mentioned on the 3rd floor;
It is related to pressure and flow rate; adjust the pressure regulator by trial and error.
Natural gas analysis was done on this before, and the purity was fine. No analysis was done on why the eternal light went out that day
Does that mean that too low pressure prevents combustion from being maintained? The pressure of the natural gas supplied from outside is quite high (0.8 MPa). I’m worried that there might be a problem with the pneumatic valve of the constant-flow lamp, so I switched to using the manual valve on the auxiliary line and set it to its maximum position; it seems that there shouldn’t be any issues with the gas supply pressure
Uneven exhaust flow (present at times and absent at other times) can easily extinguish the pilot light, and this has been encountered during startup and shutdown operations. During one shutdown, all the pilot lights went out, and steam had to be introduced as a cover. Fortunately, the shutdown is coming to an end soon
