The esterification rate is an important control parameter in polyester production, as it reflects the degree of progress in the manufacturing process. Polyester production in our country remains at the level of offline analysis, manual adjustments, and experience-based control, which hinders the development of the industry. Online monitoring technology enables the polyester esterification rate to be displayed in real time on a computer screen, just like conventional signals such as temperature and pressure. In the polyester production process, the mixing density of the reaction system is related to the esterification rate and the feed ratio; by measuring the system density and feed ratio, the esterification rate of the esterification reaction can be calculated using a model. At the same time, the density of the material system is not the density under standard conditions; it is greatly influenced by factors such as temperature, pressure, and flow rate. Therefore, signals such as system temperature, pressure, and flow rate are introduced to compensate and correct the detection results. Once this system is in operation, on-site staff can read the value of the polyester esterification rate in the reactor in real time online, and make adjustments accordingly based on the process requirements.
This can be promoted; currently, many polyester plants are looking for online inspection technologies.
Some factories install mass flow meters on the ester output side to determine the esterification rate based on the density of the material.
