On November 15th, at 15:37, the No. 4 gasifier in the 680,000-ton coal-to-olefins project operated by Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Xinjiang Company was started up, and coal feeding was successful. At 17:40 on the same day, the crude gas was successfully sent to the downstream units, marking the first time that all 6 gasifiers operated stably simultaneously, and the task of switching between gasifiers was completed successfully. The gasification unit utilizes GE’s water-coal slurry pressurized gasification technology, featuring a total of 8 gasifiers designed to operate in a 5-on/3-off configuration. The 6th gasifier that was successfully put into operation this time is Unit 4 of this facility. The 1# gasifier, which operates according to the center’s planned schedule, needs to be taken out of service for maintenance; before it is shut down, the 4# gasifier must be enabled to use coal, so that all 6 gasifiers can operate stably. The methanol synthesis plant uses process packages from the British company Davy Process Technology and catalysts from Johnson Matthey Catalyst to produce MTO-grade methanol, which serves as raw material for downstream facilities. Its designed production capacity is 1.8 million tons per year (based on 100% CH3OH). From the feeding of coal into Gasifier No. 4 to the production of qualified MTO-grade methanol, the entire process took 17 hours and 35 minutes, breaking the record set by Xinjiang Coal-to-Oil Company on June 17, when the first batch of product was produced in 76 hours and 45 minutes. The Shenhua 680,000-ton coal-based new materials production line project, located in Ganquanbao Industrial Park, was approved for implementation in 2011 with a total investment of 22.8 billion yuan. It is currently the largest coal chemical project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in terms of both the amount of investment and the scale of construction. After 4 years of infrastructure development, the 680,000-ton coal-based new materials production line project of Shenhua Xinjiang Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully started up for trial operation on June 17, 2016, producing qualified MTO-grade methanol ; On October 3, polyolefin products were successfully produced. It is reported that for the Shenhua Xinjiang 680,000-ton coal-based new materials project, the originally planned production capacity was 300,000 tons for PE and 380,000 tons for PP; the actual construction capacity is 270,000 tons for PE, with production focused on LDPE products such as 2426H, 2426K, and 2426F ; PP amounts to 450,000 tons, of which 40,000 tons are produced using recycled products as raw materials, mainly for K8003 and S1003.

Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Xinjiang Company’s #4 turbine generator set was successfully started up in a single attempt. Author/Source: Date: 2016-11-30 Clicks: 18 Recently, Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Xinjiang Company’s power plant’s #4 turbine generator set was successfully started up in one attempt. It is reported that the company’s #4 steam turbine is an impulse-type, low-pressure, single-axis condensing steam turbine generator of the N20-1.6/0.46 type, designed and manufactured by Yangtze Power Group. To ensure the smooth commissioning of this unit, the company’s staff responsible for the steam turbines and electrical systems, along with those involved in debugging and installation, worked closely together. Through diligent preparation and continuous efforts, it took 6 hours from the start of operation to successfully complete the friction check test, remote and local shutdown tests, oil injection tests, OPC tests, electrical overspeed tests, mechanical overspeed tests, and various tests related to the generator’s performance. The unit was able to reach its rated speed of 3000 r/min and maintain that speed successfully. During the commissioning process, the main oil pump of the unit operated normally, and all system equipment functioned smoothly. Key parameters such as stress, expansion, temperature difference, and vibration were all within normal ranges, meeting the requirements of the technical specifications. The good operating condition of the unit indicates that the #4 steam turbine generator set was successfully commissioned in a single attempt. The successful startup of the #4 turbine generator set marks the beginning of the commissioning process for the entire turbine generator set, laying the foundation for its subsequent connection to the grid and operation under load.
