In the petroleum refining process, hydrocracking is commonly used for heavy fractions such as diesel and wax oil. However, I occasionally hear that there are also units for the hydrocracking of gasoline. After checking online, it turns out that gasoline is generally not subjected to hydrocracking directly, as it is not economical and poses safety risks; therefore, such units hardly exist in China. But I’m working on a project right now, and I still want to understand the overall process flow in this area; is there anyone who can provide some information?
I’ve heard of it for the first time; aside from the manufacturing process, what products are produced through gasoline cracking?
