What are the main disadvantages of space furnaces? I’ve read a lot of materials that talk about the advantages and strengths of space furnaces, but few mention their disadvantages and shortcomings. I hope everyone can list the shortcomings of the space furnace during operation. Thank you!
May I ask: What does the ash-to-slag ratio in a gasification system mean? I’ve read some materials stating that the ash content in the wastewater from space furnaces is higher than that in Texaco furnaces. Is this true? The gasification efficiency of the Spacecraft Furnace is higher than that of Texaco’s furnace; I think the ash content in the wastewater from the Spacecraft Furnace should be lower as well! I would appreciate it if the experts could help answer this question. Thank you!
Space furnaces are very suitable for coals with poor slurry-forming properties, such as Baofeng Energy, but they have drawbacks in terms of gasification; there are issues with powder transportation, and the maximum gasification pressure is 4.5 MPa
The ash ratio refers to the proportion of fine ash to coarse ash, as mentioned by them. It is recommended to consult manufacturers with relevant experience regarding the ash content (i.e., the amount of fine ash) in space furnaces. The high efficiency mentioned in pulverized coal gasification applies only to the gasification furnace itself; whether the overall efficiency is high when taking into account the energy consumption associated with pulverized coal drying and pneumatic transportation remains to be determined.
