The temperature drawn out at Stage 1 is higher than before; does this mean that more heat is being supplied to the entire tower?
The effect of pressure also needs to be taken into account. When the tower pressure remains constant and the vapor flow rate stays the same, a higher extraction temperature in section 1 indicates that the heavier components at the bottom of the tower are entering the side stream of section 1. This only signifies that heat is moving upward to the middle part of the distillation tower, but it does not mean that the heat has reached the top of the tower.
No. With all other conditions unchanged, it precisely indicates that less heat has been added.
Why, with all other conditions remaining the same, is less heat being generated?/
