We have three carbon dioxide compressors: Compressor No. 1 consumes 58,000 kWh per day, Compressor No. 2 consumes 60,300 kWh per day, and Compressor No. 3 consumes 60,400 kWh per day. It is evident that Compressor No. 1 uses significantly less electricity, while Compressors No. 2 and No. 3 use more electricity. With the same load and daily urea production, the clearance in each stage was 4.0 mm; no abnormalities were observed in the gas valves of the compressor in any stage, and the resistance across the different stages was also similar. So what other factors have an impact?

There are slight differences in the lift of the valves, as well as variations in their sealing performance; these differences are more noticeable after the valves have been in use for some time. The clearance between the inner and outer dead centers of the cylinder, as well as the sealing performance of the piston rings, are all factors that influence this. New machines cannot achieve exactly the same operating parameters, let alone after they start running.
What was said upstairs is relatively comprehensive; to add more: since the location of the unit varies and it is situated at different positions along the inlet and outlet pipes, the distribution of gas flow is affected, which in turn impacts the unit’s performance; Furthermore, for the same type of motor, even if the power is identical, differences in the manufacturing and assembly of the rotor and stator can result in varying power consumption and efficiency.
