Drawing related to the heat exchanger thickness

After the appropriate ratio for the heat exchanger is determined, is the thickness also drawn according to this ratio? For example, if a 10-meter tube is scaled down by 1 meter, does its thickness also need to be reduced? Wouldn’t that make it too thin?
There’s no need to draw it to scale; we usually keep the outer diameter to scale, but the thickness doesn’t have to be
Our teacher said the same thing – that it’s necessary to draw things using proportions, and to exaggerate them slightly to illustrate the point
