For the gaskets used in Asahi Kasei’s electrolyzer cells, Tie Ling Guo Hua Rubber is recommended for use in China – what is the quality of its products? We used it before, and leaks started to occur after a month; they appeared on both sides. How is it working for you?
Ma Gong, Guohua’s quality isn’t very stable, while Ketuo’s is fairly good
We’re using it; alkali crystals form on both sides of the cathode surface as well as at its bottom. However, there has been no leakage yet, so it works for now, though it’s not ideal.
It was used on the electrolyzers at Beihua Machinery before, and it worked fine.
I’ve been using it; currently I’m trying to coat both the anode and cathode gaskets with PTFE
The gaskets produced by Jiangyin Hongze are also good
Currently, there are many manufacturers in China producing cell gaskets, but few of them actually meet the required standards. Asahi Kasei is quite cautious when recommending the use of domestic gaskets. Using Asahi Kasei’s compatible gaskets is too expensive, and it does not suit China’s economic conditions.

If the operating pressure for the Asahi Kasei electrolyzer is set at 40 or 44, and the oil pressure lock value is 9, it is best not to use gaskets made in China; If the operating pressure is low, at 20 and 24, and the oil pressure remains locked at 9, then domestic gaskets can be used for the gaskets! Also, in terms of ion exchange membranes, if they have a sacrificial core material, it is best to use Asahi Kasei’s gaskets! The gasket issue is mainly due to inadequate sealing at the protruding edges of the anode; of course, this is also a challenging problem! If the strength of the sealing line is too high, it damages the membrane; if it is too low, the seal is not tight! This is my personal opinion and does not represent others!
