Who uses rotary air preheaters in the heating furnaces of their factory? How is it performing? :'(
In refineries, rotary preheaters are rarely used in heating furnaces due to excessive air leakage.
Most air preheaters in power plants are rotary type.

In titanium dioxide production plants, the discharge outlet of the rotary kiln is equipped with an air-cooled cooling drum – a drum with a jacket through which cooling air flows. Many companies now connect the exhaust outlet of this cooling drum to the inlet of the primary or secondary fans of the rotary kiln in order to recover waste heat. Although it isn’t a dedicated air preheater, I measured it with a temperature gun and found that it can heat the air to 70–90°C. The energy-saving effect is significant: around 50 cubic meters of producer gas can be saved per ton of titanium dioxide, which equates to savings of 15–20 yuan per ton. I’ve never seen boilers that use rotary air preheaters; the slag cooler is rotary as well :)
For glass bottle manufacturing enterprises, coal-fired gas boilers work on a principle similar to what you mentioned; however, scaling tends to form inside the pipes, so proper water pretreatment is essential. For cleaning or water softeners, you can turn to me: lol
