Regarding article publication

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever published an article in the journal \"Chemical Engineering Automation and Instrumentation\". I recently wrote an article on the maintenance of control systems and submitted it to that journal; it has been accepted now, but I need to pay a page charge of 1660. Ugh, why is this page charge so high? After seeing this amount of money, I’m not sure whether to publish it or not; I also don’t know if doing so will be useful in the future Let’s all discuss it~
If you want to become an expert reviewer in certain fields in the future, having published articles in reputable journals can be an advantage; it is also useful for career advancement, but I’m not sure about other aspects.

These days, when applying for professional titles or similar things, performance records are required. This publication is a legitimate one; unless it’s some kind of anthology, there’s no problem with paying a fee for it. Generally, it’s the employer who covers the costs, usually for the purpose of obtaining a professional title; otherwise, what’s the point of going through the trouble of writing papers?
It mainly depends on whether you already have a professional title or if you need to prepare to obtain one; this might be useful in that case. If you look closely at current journals, there are many articles published by people from universities, while fewer articles are published by those from factories and companies. Why is that? Because universities have research funding from which they can cover the costs of publishing articles, whereas people from factories and companies have to pay for publication themselves; aside from using it for professional title evaluations, they end up having to both invest effort and money. This is probably also one of the reasons why there are few practical articles in journals these days.

Be satisfied; 1600 is still expensive. This isn’t even a separate section. I published one that was even worse – 1600 words per page, and it wasn’t even a peer-reviewed journal.

There’s no need for that. The industry in which one’s workplace operates surely has industry magazines. If the company is a member of an industry association, publishing papers doesn’t cost anything; in fact, one even receives payment for it, along with certificates recognizing achievements. In fields such as chemical instrumentation and automation, magazines charge fees for publication solely for the purpose of helping people obtain professional titles. Some people in our company pay others to write papers on their behalf and then have them published in such magazines – it’s all done by spending money, and it’s completely pointless
