I’ve just started working in the electrical field and would like to ask: is 4x1.5 still commonly used for power cables in low-power motors these days? Is it true that the cross-sectional area of such cables should now be at least 2.5, with 1.5 no longer being sufficient?
Even the smallest ones we use here have a 4mm cross-section!
But the motor on my end has only around 0.8 kW – its power is really low
The minimum value for the explosion hazard zone is 2.5; this is a requirement set by regulations. It is recommended to use 2.5. How much money can be saved by using 1.5?
