The 31st Summer Olympic Games, also known as the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5th to 21st, 2016. Rio de Janeiro will become the first South American city to host the Olympics in Olympic history, as well as the first Portuguese-speaking city to do so ； Furthermore, these Summer Olympics represent another major sporting event in Brazil following the 2014 World Cup.
