Actually, in simple terms, your question is about when the steam will stop flowing after an emergency shutdown. Theoretically, when the outlet temperature of the converter is at 400°C, steam should be shut off in the event of an emergency shutdown. However, sometimes there are just a few minutes left, and shutting off the steam has a significant impact on restarting the operation. Let me share my experience: once an emergency shutdown occurs and the system pressure drops to 0.6 MPa, the converter cools down due to the cessation of combustion; it’s best to restart the converter before its temperature drops to 300°C, with the minimum temperature not falling below 260°C.
Before introducing steam, it is also necessary to check the temperature rise of the medium-temperature conversion bed; the bed temperature should reach 200°C, otherwise the medium-temperature conversion catalyst will undergo hydrolysis as well.
