We have collaborated on carbon monoxide projects with many pharmaceutical and fine chemical companies, but we still don’t know exactly what carbon monoxide is used for. Could someone in the industry tell us in which fine chemical fields carbon monoxide is utilized?
Carbon monoxide has strong reducing properties; the product formed upon its oxidation, carbon dioxide, is easy to separate, and it is commonly used to remove oxygen-containing impurities from materials.
The most typical use is in carbonyl synthesis.
Yeah... I’ve built several similar devices before, but I still don’t know what they’re for. I also don’t know how to get in touch with the owners who need them...
Carbonylation isn’t widely used in China, I guess… We’re working on carbonylation processes for producing methyl formate as well, but it seems that there hasn’t been a single project carried out in several years
