The oil filling line of the pre-hydrogenation reactor runs from the outlet of the pump at the bottom of the pre-distillation tower to the outlet of the pre-hydrogenation reactor; before its first operation, the reactor is filled with oil to soak the catalyst for about four hours.
Before filling with oil, close the inlet and outlet valves of the pre-hydrogenation reactor, open the oil filling line, and open the safety valve bypass to connect it to the low-pressure gas pipeline. You should notice that there is a level gauge at the top of the pre-hydrogenation reactor where it connects to the low-pressure gas pipeline; once the level indicated by the gauge reaches a certain level, stop filling with oil and start the soaking process.
