With a design temperature of 370°, is it necessary to use alloy steel pipes? Are alloy steel pipes easy to buy? It’s not much
I’m not sure if alloy steel pipes are being used; As for whether it’s easy to purchase, it depends on your materials, the manufacturer you order from, and whether they have stock available.
Based solely on temperature, carbon steel can be used up to 425°C, while 20G can reach up to 450°C. Depending on the medium and process conditions, carbon steel can be considered; alloy steel is not necessarily required.

Be more specific about the requirements for the pipes – diameter, wall thickness, length. Maybe I can help you
Most common material specifications are available for purchase; for example, grades 20G below 89 are in stock. For alloys such as 12Cr1MoVG and 15CrMoG, grades up to 114 are fairly widely available, while grades above 114 are available but in smaller quantities. Some other alloys are also in stock, but in limited quantities. If you encounter such a situation again, feel free to contact me for some advice.
Using alloy steel is definitely a good option, but it’s very expensive. Additionally, the choice of alloy steel is not determined solely by temperature; it also takes into account the properties of the medium, such as whether it is acidic or alkaline. If there are no special conditions, choosing alloy steel based solely on temperature will only lead to waste of resources.
