I would like to ask experienced designers: Is it necessary to affix a stamp indicating approval for pressure vessel design on the construction drawings of pressure vessels that are not subject to the requirements of the Code for Fixed Pressure Vessels? Thank you
As long as a pressure vessel meets the requirements of the fixed-volume regulations and is classified according to volume regulations, it generally requires a design seal. Only those that belong to simple pressure vessels do not require inspection; there is no need for a permit, and they can be used and managed by the owner themselves.
It shouldn’t be necessary. Even those within the scope of dimensional tolerance regulations do not necessarily require a stamp, as stated in 1.4.3
Haha, if there are rules, then they must be followed; “anything not prohibited by law is allowed”:victory:
As long as it is a pressure vessel (meeting all three conditions specified in the vessel regulations), the regulations require compliance with general provisions as well as design and manufacturing requirements; sections 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 of the new vessel regulations clearly stipulate this, so it is necessary to affix a design stamp. Article 1.4.3 in the 2009 version no longer applies to pressure vessels; they are considered non-standard vessels. In clauses 1.4.1 and 1.4.2, the manufacturing inspection of pressure vessels is not covered; design and inspection are handled by two separate departments. I’m not sure if my understanding is correct Everyone can discuss it.
In Version 09 of the regulations, 1.4 represents a special scope of application: Sections 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 require compliance with the requirements outlined in the “Design” chapter, which means that stamping is necessary. Section 1.4.3 does not require compliance with the “Design” requirements; therefore, stamping is not mandatory, but such containers still fall under the category of containers covered by these regulations. As for the larger capacity specification, it hasn’t been officially implemented yet; it will be after 10.1 :)
