According to clause 8.8.1 of GB151 standard: For strength expansion joints, an expansion process test shall be conducted prior to expansion. After checking the TEMA 2007 version, I could not find any requirements regarding weld process tests for strength expansion joints; only this sentence was found in Chapter 5: RCB-7.323 FABRICATION AND TESTING PROCEDURES: Welding procedures and testing techniques for either seal welded or strength welded tube joints shall be by agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser. At first, I thought that according to the TEMA standard, it is the purchase agreement that determines whether a weld process is required for strength expansion joints, but upon closer examination of this sentence, I realized that it refers mainly to seal welding and strength welding, not strength expansion welding. I’m a bit lost now
