In our plant’s methanol production unit using coke oven gas, the anti-surge valves in the compression system operate by moving one valve position at a time; however, the valves actually move by 3–5 positions before returning to their original state. For example, it starts at a% and moves to (a+1)%, but in reality it moves to (a+5%) before returning to (a+1%). This situation often causes disruptions in the manufacturing process. I urge experts to provide suggestions and help with diagnosis!
There’s a problem with the locator; try recalibrating it. If that doesn’t work, replace it.
This post was last edited by Happy King on 2016-7-31 at 16:29. Check whether the pressure setting of the pre-filter regulator before the locator is appropriate; as mentioned above, it might be a problem with the locator, and it’s not clear which brand of valve it is.
Does the valve provide feedback? If there is feedback, it can be determined whether the issue lies with the software output or with the valve actuator.
First, the valve should be turned manually to check whether it is stuck, and it is also necessary to verify that the air supply pressure is normal. Check again whether the locator is showing alarm messages and fault information now. If not, perform a self-check on the locator. Every item of the locator self-check must pass.
There might be a problem with the locator; moreover, surge valves generally open quickly but close slowly, and there are some fluctuations when they open
