Personally, I think it should be loosened; the function of the set screw is to adjust alignment. If it’s used for fixing, wouldn’t that cause a conflict with the footings?
Not loosening it during delivery should have no impact on the unit. If possible, it’s still a good idea to add a spare cap for fixing it, which will make it easier to check alignment during maintenance.

If it’s the set screw used to remove the motor, it should be loosened before aligning the coupling; otherwise, it will affect the alignment data. If the set screws are used for alignment, they should also be loosened after alignment is completed and the foundation bolts have been tightened, in order to prevent the motor from experiencing free expansion due to heat generation during operation. Therefore, the set screws of the foundation bolts must be loose during operation.
