Which companies across the country are currently using the Claus sulfur recovery process developed by Shell in the Netherlands, that is, a two-stage conventional Claus process with hydrogen reduction in one stage and selective oxidation in another stage? What is the situation regarding exhaust gas emissions, and do they meet the design specifications? Given the current environmental regulations, it seems that exhaust gas treatment systems are necessary in all cases. Feel free to share your experiences and insights!
We use a three-stage conventional Claus process with one-stage selective oxidation, without hydrogenation reduction in between. It has been in operation for 14 years now, and it is no longer possible to function without an exhaust gas treatment system; the concentration is around 6000 to 7000
Your equipment has a certain history; back then environmental regulations were not strict, but that’s not acceptable anymore. Without hydrogen reduction, subsequent oxidation treatment cannot deal with sulfur dioxide
Well, we are a natural gas purification plant. At present, the emission standards for exhaust gases are still in the drafting stage, and the current emission levels are sufficient to meet those requirements. Some of our sister organizations are already using Consolf in their design work.
Sulfur recovery from the ionic liquid exhaust gases is carried out directly behind the Claus unit; no incinerator is required, and emissions can meet the standards even when the SO2 concentration is 1.5% (100 mg)
