The liquid ammonia valves on site will start leaking in no time – there are two types of leaks: firstly, the valves cannot be closed properly, and secondly, the screw seals leak due to thermal expansion and contraction. Liquid ammonia is a highly irritating gas; frequent replacement of these valves is not safe and also causes significant pollution at the site. Could you recommend any good products that can prevent such issues? Thank you
Use a better material for the sealing surface; designing it with a bellows seal will suffice – these are simple solutions
Common valve materials can be used in ammonia media. Valve leakage can be external leakage or internal leakage. 1. External leakage, caused by temperature changes that lead to the loosening of the flange bolts, resulting in leakage. Solution ； During the heating process, pre-tightening should be carried out every 24 hours, at least 3 times. Replace it with a higher-quality sealing material. Or change the flange connection type. 2. Internal leakage; since the type of valve and its usage method are unknown, it is recommended that the original poster clarify these details before discussing the issue
All globe valves of the J41B/J41F/J41Y types can be used. Leaks at the valve stem are caused by loose packing; make sure to tighten it properly
