Is it okay if the motor junction box has a ground wire but the body of the motor is not grounded? Are there any relevant regulations requiring this? If so, which regulation does it fall under? Please help to reply
The grounding terminal in the motor junction box is designed for use with four-core cables (three phases + ground). To consider cost factors, local grounding is usually adopted by using the grounding terminal on the outside of the motor.
It’s fine to connect it from the inside, but the regulations don’t allow it. Actually, it’s connected on both the inside and outside; it doesn’t matter which side it’s connected to.
