The superheater has two safety valves; the one with higher pressure activates, while the one with lower pressure does not
Each safety valve is different, and the installation location also varies; there are also errors when setting the set pressure
The superheater is equipped with two types of safety valves: the service safety valve and the control safety valve. For medium-pressure boilers, the setting pressure of the service safety valve is 1.06 times the operating pressure, while the setting pressure of the control safety valve is 1.04 times the operating pressure. Large boilers operating at pressures above high pressure are equipped with more than two superheater safety valves; these valves can be further divided into service safety valves and control safety valves, with setting pressures of 1.08 times and 1.05 times the working pressure, respectively. Therefore, it might be a confusion between the service safety valve and the control safety valve, or there could be an error in their setting. Of course, it’s also possible that the safety valves have defects or are malfunctioning (which should definitely be avoided); for example, if the insulation around a certain safety valve is inadequate, the spring may soften due to heat, causing it to activate at higher pressures.
