In the chapter on the calculation of safety valves in GB20570, regarding the situation where there is a control valve upstream of the equipment, the discharge capacity of the safety valve is to be determined based on the difference between the maximum flow rate when the control valve is fully open and the normal flow rate; a calculation formula is then provided. If this formula is used, the amount of leakage will be extremely large, resulting in a significant deviation from the actual situation. Do you all use this formula when calculating? Should the leakage volume still be calculated by directly subtracting the normal flow rate from the flow rate at the Cv value with the control valve fully open?
