Is the fire resistance rating of Class A spherical tank areas at level one?
According to China’s **Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings**, the fire resistance rating of buildings is divided into four categories. Generally speaking: Buildings with a first-class fire resistance rating are either of reinforced concrete structure, or of mixed structure consisting of brick walls and reinforced concrete ； Buildings with a secondary fire resistance rating are of mixed structure, consisting of steel structural roof trusses, reinforced concrete columns, or brick walls ； Buildings with a fire resistance rating of grade 3 are brick-wood structures consisting of wooden roofs and brick walls ； The fourth fire resistance rating refers to a combustible structure consisting of wooden roofs and walls made of flame-retardant materials. The spherical tank area falls under Category 1 and should be classified as Grade 1
That can’t be right; according to the standards, a level of not lower than two should be considered acceptable. There’s no rule stating that it has to be level one; level two is also acceptable.
