There is an ammonia cooler used to exchange heat with the medium in order to cool it down. Its temperature control valve is located on the gas ammonia outlet pipeline, while the temperature measurement point is situated after the medium has exchanged heat with the ammonia cooler. The process-controlled temperature at this point is usually 20°C, but it drops to 10°C during winter. I would like to know what the reasoning behind this is :)
Is it clear how much the temperature measured at a temperature sensing point differs from the actual temperature of the medium? In some cases, the device used for detecting leaks consists of a temperature sensor placed inside the insulation layer of the pipeline; if the insulation around the sensor is not adequate, there can be significant discrepancies due to environmental factors. It is possible for the temperature reading of the same medium to differ by 10°C between summer and winter. Is it also the case of having the desire but not the means? Are there any records of the opening degrees of the temperature control valve in summer and winter? It’s possible that the amount of ammonia supplied to this ammonia cooler, or its evaporation rate, has already reached its maximum. The set temperature is 10°C, but the actual temperature is 20°C; trying to lower the temperature further means that the valve is already open to its maximum extent, so there’s nothing more that can be done
