Vacuum distillation column simulation, overhead reflux

Thread Content

I am a beginner in ASPEN with limited skills, so I am reaching out to all the experts for help. Recently, a vacuum distillation column for a lubricating oil unit was simulated: a top condenser without a top pumparound was used, but there was a top-condenser reflux cycle (i.e., fluid was drawn off from the 2nd tray, condensed, and then returned to the 1st tray). The results after simulation convergence are difficult to understand: the simulation results show tower top reflux as well as a reflux ratio, and these values do not match those of the bottom-refrigeration cycle (but I set it to \"none-top-pumparound\", so there should be no tower top reflux). I would like to seek advice from all of you experts! ! !

Have you simulated the Chuchang Tower? I’ve been working on this as well lately, and I’m facing various challenges. Would it be possible to add me on QQ so we can discuss it together?

Why isn’t anyone responding? This question should be simple for experts

Please, experts, help me out. Since no backflow at the top of the tower was set, why are there values for backflow volume and backflow ratio in the results?

The amount of material in the top loop is the reflux volume, and the ratio of the distillate flow rate to the loop volume is the reflux ratio
