Hello everyone. First of all, I’d like to thank those who have taken the time to read this post. My problem is quite complex, so I hope that those who are knowledgeable can help me analyze it. The temperature sensor in question is used in an oven; it’s said to be imported, as it isn’t produced domestically at the moment. I’m trying to figure out whether it’s possible to manufacture it in China. Since I’m a complete novice in this area, I’m seeking help from experts and knowledgeable people out there. The sensor uses a two-wire system: at the sensing end, there’s a wire that’s thinner than a hair strand (dark golden color), wrapped in a shape similar to a “horizontal loop.” At the end, there’s a very small square-shaped component (golden color) that connects everything together. It’s this component that’s used for temperature measurement. Inside the protective casing, there’s a resistor with a resistance of around 5K ohms, connected in parallel between the two wires. At a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, this resistor has a resistance of 1000 ohms; the resistance increases as the temperature rises. It’s hard to explain further – it’s better to take a look at the diagram! I kneel in gratitude to everyone who has helped me with my questions. I just cut the 5K resistor and tested the probe directly; it seems that the resistance doesn’t change much. At a temperature of 28 degrees, the resistance is 1420 ohms, and it’s likely around 1200 ohms when connected
Uh, just use PT100 directly, right?
I tried it – I used a PT1000 from a well-known German brand as a sample – but its response time was too slow. This device is capable of detecting the current temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit) within 0.1 seconds; given the high standards required for food processing in these ovens, a high level of sensitivity is necessary...

If you want to make an estimate domestically, customization is generally required. When customizing, you need to consider the following issues: 1. Are there any special requirements regarding the material of the sensor, and can ordinary manufacturers meet those requirements? 2. How much demand do you have for this product, and is the cost within your acceptable range? 3. Whether the time required for the research, development, production, and testing of new products, as well as the effort involved, are acceptable. For new products, you need to clarify your requirements, and the relevant specialized manufacturers can generally determine whether customization is possible. Whether in the sensor industry or for other products, the relative cost of custom-made items is proportional to the quantity. If you use a small amount, there’s no need for customization; in cases where the requirements aren’t high, check whether there are any alternatives available from domestic manufacturers specialized in temperature sensors. A brief discussion – I’m not sure if it’s useful.
