Firefighting wastewater needs to be collected. I can’t remember which standard specifies this requirement ? How is the volume of the collection tank determined? I hope someone experienced can give me some advice!
The Environmental Protection Design Code for Chemical Engineering Construction Projects (GB 50483-2009) stipulates that: 6.6.1 Chemical engineering construction projects shall be equipped with emergency accident ponds. Firefighting water is definitely wastewater, and it needs to be fed into the emergency system – isn’t that obvious? Can you just discharge unqualified wastewater outside?
GB 50160-2008 7.3.14 The drainage system for receiving fire-fighting wastewater shall have its capacity verified based on the maximum amount of fire-fighting water, and measures shall be in place to prevent contaminated fire-fighting water from being discharged outside the plant.
Firefighting water and wastewater need to be collected; previously, there were no mandatory regulations in this regard. Later, when sewage from the Songhua River was discharged into Russia, the Russians refused to accept that, which led to the formulation of regulations to impose such requirements. It is generally called an accident wastewater collection tank, and its volume should be equal to or greater than that of the fire water tank or fire water reservoirs located within the factory premises.
