The hydrogen production PSA adsorbent has been loaded, and purging is now being carried out. However, during the purging process, smoke was observed coming from the tower wall, and shortly thereafter the paint caught fire. On-site personnel used fire water to cool the tower walls. The combustion is under control. I’d like everyone to analyze what causes the adsorbent to release heat intensely.

Is it possible that ferrous sulfide is self-igniting? I have encountered cases where sulfurized iron in exhaust gas adsorption devices containing hydrogen sulfide caused the towers to self-ignite and get damaged
