Reason for foaming: (1) Pollutants act as initiators for foaming. Including condensed hydrocarbons, organic acids, and other chemicals. (2) Solids will stabilize the foam. Stabilizers include iron sulfide particles, amine degradation products, and other solids. (3) Abnormal operation can cause foaming; factors such as an excessive gas line velocity, large or unstable pressure differences at the top and bottom of the tower, fluctuations in the liquid level inside the tower, and unstable feed to the regeneration tower can all lead to foaming.
①The solvent is continuously and effectively filtered to remove solid substances from it, using both the concentrated and dilute solution filters as well as the underground amine solution tank filter, with the filters being cleaned regularly. ②The equipment is made of qualified materials, or preservatives are added to the solvent to inhibit the formation of FeS in it. ③Steam condensate is used to prepare the solvent, in order to reduce the amount of oxygen introduced into the solvent system.

The “foaming” phenomenon of the solvent is caused by hydrocarbon condensates and liquid mist carried in the gases entering the desulfurization tower, as well as iron sulfide formed as a result of hydrogen sulfide corroding the equipment.
