A freeze in CMOS is usually caused by a problem with the motherboard or CPU; if pressing the relevant buttons does not resolve the issue, then the only option is to replace the motherboard or CPU. Such failures are generally caused by problems with the motherboard’s cache or poor heat dissipation design in the motherboard; it has been observed that this issue arises due to insufficient heat dissipation in the motherboard. After the system crashed, I touched the components on the motherboard around the CPU and found that they were extremely hot to the touch. After replacing the high-power fan, the freeze-up issue was resolved. For faults related to the cache, we can go into the CMOS settings and disable the cache, which will resolve the issue. Of course, disabling the cache will certainly affect performance.
