【Q&A Question 046】June 5, 2016: What are the startup steps for diesel hydrogenation? When will the new hydrogen generator and the hydrogen circulation pump be turned on respectively? (Brief explanation) The answer key can be seen after responding; scoring is achieved by addressing the key points. I. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the equipment, carry out system purging, pressure testing, airtightness checks, water flushing, individual unit tests, and furnace drying, etc ; II. Water intermodal transport, cold oil transport, hot oil transport, etc ; III. Catalyst loading, system airtightness testing, catalyst drying, catalyst presulfurization, commissioning of each tower, startup of feeding, and operational adjustments. After the nitrogen at 0.7 MPa passes the airtightness test, the new hydrogen pump is started; subsequently, after the gas at 2.0 MPa passes the airtightness test, the hydrogen circulation pump is started.
Nitrogen displacement, hydrogen displacement, oil injection under increased temperature and pressure, oil injection at low pressure, heating cycle
Steps to start diesel hydrogenation: 1. Nitrogen purging, confirm airtightness is satisfactory; 2. The system is maintained under a pressure of 0.05 Mpa with nitrogen gas ; 3. Introduce hydrogen gas to the centrifuge and new hydrogen generator ; 4. Start the circulation pump and the new hydrogen pump ; 5. Ignite the furnace with gas ; 6. Introduce refined diesel circulation ; 7. Introduce raw materials and start oil operation
1. Nitrogen displacement system 2. Airtightness check 3. Introduce hydrogen 4. Pressurize the system to the pressure of the hydrogen pipeline network and conduct an airtightness check 5. Start the hydrogen circulation pump 6. Heat up the furnace 7. Start the new hydrogen pump to increase pressure, while carrying out airtightness checks from time to time 8. Apply lubricating oil during distillation and carry out furnace heating cycles simultaneously 9. Feed material into the reaction system 10. Make adjustments as necessary

Water transport, cold oil transport, hot oil transport, etc ; 3. Catalyst loading, system airtightness testing, catalyst drying, catalyst presulfurization, commissioning of each tower, start-up of feeding, and operational adjustments. After the 0.6MPa nitrogen gas tightness test is passed, the new hydrogen machine is started; subsequently, after the 2.0MPa gas tightness test is passed, the hydrogen circulation machine is started.
Reaction: Displacement, Pressurization, Starting the hydrogen generator, Pressurization, Starting the hydrogen circulation pump, Igniting the furnace, Heating up, Thermal tightening, Airtightness testing, Catalyst sulfidation, Depactivation, Introducing oil. Fractionation: Displacement, Pressurization, Airtightness testing, Introducing feed oil, Small cycle, Large cycle, Introducing crude oil
For the first start-up: 1. Ensure airtightness of the reaction system; at this point, the hydrogen generator needs to be activated and nitrogen is used to increase the pressure. 2. Dry the catalyst by raising the temperature in a cycle while activating the hydrogen generator. 3. Displace air from the reaction system with hydrogen and increase the pressure to ensure airtightness. 4. Once satisfactory, inject sulfurizing oil to sulfurize the catalyst (wet sulfiding method). 5. After sulfiding, stabilize the catalyst’s initial activity. 6. Feed crude oil to commence normal production. 7. At an appropriate time, initiate oil circulation and temperature rise for distillation. 8. Integrate the reaction process into the distillation system for normal operation
It turns on when the pressure is increased for parallel operation of the new hydrogen machine. Turn on the circulator before heating up.
