Several air caps on the fluidized bed furnace in the plant were damaged, causing the material inside the furnace to fall into the air chamber and increasing the pressure at the bottom of the furnace. Generally, the air chamber is sealed by shutting down the furnace, but this poses a significant risk. I would like to ask everyone, have you encountered this situation before? What should be done if the wind cap gets damaged? How to handle it? Are there any specific safety measures or contingency plans? Thank you all in advance!
We generally use low-chromium steel balls in the furnace to press down on the air cap, or small iron cones to press down on it.
