When Safety Month coincides with the Dragon Boat Festival: Some tips for traveling safely during this long holiday: 1. Do not drive too fast – speeding is one of the three main causes of death on highways! Especially on rainy days, speeding is even more dangerous; drivers, please don’t pursue quickness at the expense of serious consequences! Half of traffic accidents on highways in China are caused by speeding! The general maximum speed limit on highways in China is 120 km/h; no matter how eager one is to reunite with family or friends, it is essential to drive at a safe speed! 2. Be sure to avoid driving while fatigued – it is the third leading cause of death on highways. After driving continuously for 4 hours, you should stop and rest for a while (at least 20 minutes)! On the highway, it’s easiest to get tired from boredom! Data shows that drivers on highways doze off approximately once every 45 km, often falling asleep with their eyes open for 1 to 4 seconds without even realizing it. Thinking back to when I drove long distances, were there those few moments of distraction? 3. Fasten your seat belt – The driver and passenger must always fasten their seat belts! Passengers in the back seat must also fasten their seat belts on long trips! Not wearing a seat belt is playing with one’s life. It is expected that during the Dragon Boat Festival period (June 9th to 11th), rainfall will be generally light in most areas of the north, with frequent thunderstorms ; There was a period of severe to torrential rainfall in the southern region.
Thank you for the reminder; safety comes first.....
