It is said that the convection section can only be used to generate steam, heat superheated steam, or preheat air – it cannot be used to heat materials. What is the reason for this? O(∩_∩)O Thank you
Let me show you everyone the foreigner’s process kit.
The specified absorbed duty refers only to the radiant heat energy absorbed by the process fluid. No process coils are allowed in the convection section. Steam generation, steam superheating, and/or air preheating are not included and shall be determined during detailed design.
It seems strange. If anyone understands this, please explain. Usually, a steam coil is added to the convection section, but in most cases it’s still the convection coil that serves as the heating medium. Could it be due to pressure drop? I don’t understand; please clarify

The absorbed load (heat) is merely the heat absorbed by the process fluid from radiation. There are no process coils in the convection zone. Does not include steam generators, superheaters, or air heaters. The decision is pending in the detailed planning. It does not state that “heating of the material is not allowed in the convection section”. This is the description of the radiation section and the requirements for it.
It should be possible. In our company’s vehicle assembly workshop, it is the material flow that takes place in the convection section of the hydrogenation feed furnace; it might be related to your process. There isn’t enough information available, so it’s difficult for me to give you an accurate assessment!

By \"process package\" is meant that the \"main process medium for heating\" can only have coils installed in the radiation chamber; it cannot be installed in the convection chamber. However, the convection chamber can heat other types of media, such as steam or air. It is mainly related to the operational requirements of the main process media. There may be certain particularities, so it is not recommended to heat it in a convection chamber.
