Discussion on the application scenarios of extended differential pressure level transmitters

Dear colleagues: Extended differential pressure transmitters are used for measuring the liquid level in containers containing highly viscous or condensed, homogeneous media. However, in jacketed equipment, it is necessary to discuss whether a jacket flange is required at the pressure tapping point of the equipment. Let me share my thoughts first: Since an extended differential pressure transmitter is being used, there is no need to use a jacket flange at the equipment’s flange connection; a regular flange can be used instead. The pressure tapping ports of the differential pressure transmitter extend deep into the interior of the equipment, so there is no risk of the medium condensing on the diaphragm and causing errors； If the equipment flange is a jacketed flange, then it isn’t necessary for the transmitter to use an extended flange; a regular flat flange differential pressure transmitter will suffice! Everyone, please participate actively in the discussion!
In my opinion, the flanges of the equipment should be jacketed types, and the same applies to the flanges of the transmitters. Since jacketed flanges differ in size from regular flanges, it is possible to refer to the standards for steel flanges.
Foreign-made transmitters don’t all come with jackets; they don’t offer special customizations!
