The main reason for setting isolation steps is the need to establish timing
Isolation, as the name implies, means that all valves of the tower are closed at this stage. The corresponding valves are opened only after the subsequent steps have been completed. This is a method adopted when it is not possible to stagger the steps in the PSA timing during programming. For example, after the second pressure increase, a first pressure increase should take place, but if the adsorption step has not yet ended, then it is necessary to wait until the adsorption step is complete before carrying out the first pressure increase. Waiting usually occurs during the pressure increase process; there is no waiting during the pressure reduction process. This is due to the characteristics of PSA: as the pressure decreases, the adsorption capacity drops, and the impurities trapped in the adsorbent are released. If waiting were not done, these impurities would spread to the top of the tower, resulting in excessive levels of impurities during subsequent pressure release, leading to chain reactions that reduce the purity of the product gas.
Isolation should be applied when the program cannot proceed, and it is placed in an isolation state while waiting for the right opportunity
