There is a three-stage piston machine. The overpressure at levels one and two is likely due to a problem with the valve – either the intake valve or the exhaust valve. Are there any methods and criteria for diagnosing faults? Thank you
If your machine is part of the system, the reasons for overpressure in stage 1 and stage 2 are as follows: Overpressure in stage 1 indicates that the air valve and piston rings in stage 1 are in good condition; the problem lies in the return air flow in stage 2; Now the second stage is also overpressured, which indicates that the gas valve and piston rings in the second stage are in good condition; the problem lies in the third stage. So, the possible problems in Section 3 are: 1. Blockage in the pipeline between the outlet pipe of Section 2 and the inlet valve of Section 3, resulting in overpressure in Section 2 ; 2. The inlet valve in stage 3 is damaged, resulting in insufficient suction in stage 3 and backflow of air, which causes overpressure in stage 2 ; 3. The outlet valve in stage 3 is damaged, resulting in a reduced suction volume in stage 3 and overpressure in stage 2 ; 4. Damage to the three-stage piston rings or piston leads to air leakage and insufficient intake, causing overpressure in the second stage. How to tell? Inspection can be carried out based on the temperature of the valve gland at the inlet and outlet. When a valve is damaged, the temperature of the gland is usually higher than normal, as the temperature of the returning gas is higher than that of the incoming gas. Damage to the piston rings or piston can be determined based on the temperature of the balance tube. When replacing the air valve, make sure to check the cause of its damage, and also examine whether there are any signs of damaged piston rings in the cylinder. If sections one, two, and three belong to different systems, it is recommended that in addition to checking the issues mentioned above, you also verify whether there is any overload in those other systems. I hope this can help you!
